The Comprehensive Teacher Training Course (CTTC)

More than simply a program of study, the BASI® CTTC is an enduring foundation for a career in Pilates, with graduates qualified to teach up to advanced level students on the full complement of standard equipment.

The course provides a thorough, comprehensive education in Pilates covering the full range of Pilates equipment: Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Avalon, Ped-a-pul, Ladder Barrel, Step Barrel and various other auxiliary apparatus.

It is a complete and intensive college-level program that provides a solid foundation for teaching, as well as, a thorough understanding of all facets of Pilates. The course also includes instruction on thge BASI® “Block System” (a comprehensive programming and teaching methodology) and on the science of human movement, anatomy and physiology.

Upon completion of the course, you will be qualified to:

  • Work according to the principles of Pilates and introduce these tenets to clients and students
  • Assess posture and posture types, as well as detect postural deviations
  • Solve problems and provide effective exercise solutions for many physical conditions
  • Compile comprehensive and safe Pilates programs, tailored to individual needs
  • Use the BASI® Block System to successfully administer individual and group sessions
  • Analyze and understand the Pilates exercises, based on anatomical and biomechanical principles

The Mat Teacher Training Course (MTTC)

The mat work course is a stepping stone to the full comprehensive course. It is advised for students who do not have the time or resources to study the comprehensive course, or those in locations without Pilates equipment.

We regard the Mat Work as the “crown jewel” of Pilates. It is the essence of the system, without which a great void would exist. The Mat Work Teacher Training course provides a thorough education in Mat Work and its infinite applications. In addition to being the foundation on which all else is based, it is also the perfect springboard to the Comprehensive Teacher Training Course.

It is affordable, easy to integrate into many different settings and introduces people to the foundation of Pilates. There is no part of the Pilates system that exemplifies the principles of the method, particularly flow, quite as well as the Mat work. Students study a very wide repertoire of Mat Work exercises and the integration of small apparatus into the Mat program.

Upon completion of the course, you will be qualified to:
