Meet the Teachers

How & Why Pilates

I became familiar with the Stott Pilates Method through dance as it was recommended to enhance posture, poise, stretch, and strengthen muscle tone without building bulk.

Pilates continued to be a part of my exercise regime as well as weight training and any fitness class that I could attend from Yoga to Pole Fitness.

I became a Registered Massage Therapist in 2006 and also completed a mat Pilates certificate  so I could give my clients Pilates exercises as home-care to safely treat muscle injury, increase muscle and joint range of motion, and improve core strength.

In 2017 I became certified on the reformer with the Stott Pilates Method.

Professional Development

I continue to practice full time as a Registered Massage Therapist and teach Pilates.

Teaching Philosophy/Approach

I am grateful for the anatomy, and movement experience I have acquired over the years in massage therapy that I can bring to my Pilates sessions. I love Pilates for injury prevention, postural improvement and for individuals who are recovering from injuries.

Something unique about me

I am originally from Barrie, Ontario and I have lived in Ottawa since 2009. I spent two years abroad living and working in the Turks and Caicos Islands continuing to work as a Massage Therapist and using Pilates as a complement to care for both private lessons and also group classes.
